Man Sentenced to Probation For Injuring Olmsted County Deputy
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man who pushed an Olmsted County deputy down some stairs has been placed on probation.
The incident happened in Stewartville in July. It began when the deputy stopped a car driven by 20-year-old Tyler Noreen of Brook Park.
The man walked to a nearby house and after ignoring orders to stop, the deputy used her taser on him. Noreen pulled out the probes and the deputy tried to stop him from entering the house and that’s when he pushed her down the basement stairs. The deputy was taken to St. Marys Hospital where she was treated for a cut on her lip. She also complained of a severe headache and head and neck injuries.
Noreen fled but was later apprehended.
He pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and was sentenced Monday to three years probation. He was also ordered to perform 40 hours of community work service.
