"I like this guy! His name is Shorty, and he is "a man on a mission." His mission is to educate the world about breed equality.

Fortunately, Rochester doesn't have this breed restriction AKA BSL (breed-specific legislation), BUT I know smaller towns in this area do, and others have tried to. I am fully aware that some people have had run-ins with pit bulls. I also know that I was bitten in the face by a Doberman, and my Pit was actually attacked by a Poodle... two different dogs, two separate times! Not to mention, I have never had a dog in my life more mellow, loving, and cuddly as my big baby Mika - yes, the Pit Bull.

I am a firm believer that dogs behave the way they are trained.

"Pit bulls are not inherently dangerous. Like any other dogs, they can become violent, aggressive and mean through a lack of training, abuse, neglect, and irresponsible ownership and breeding as well as a lack of attention to health and temperament issues. If they are treated with respect and trained properly, pit bulls will exhibit little to no negative traits." - One Green Planet.

I get heated just thinking about this because I find it so incredibly unfair that these beautiful animals are being discriminated against. EVERYONE who meets my dog immediately falls in love with her soul melting eyes and her overabundance of kisses.

Anyway, back to this awesome guy - Shorty "The Pit Boss" Rossi and his Freedom Tour. He will be stopping at Taco Jed on Wednesday. The event starts at 4 pm. You can expect to see Shorty, his beautiful Pit, Ares, and his car! Plus, many other vendors will be on hand including Roo Yori (K9 Ninja), Pawsabilities Dog Training, Paws and Claws, Chuck and Dons and more. There will also be prizes, raffles, and giveaways.
