Ready-to-eat salads, made right here in Minnesota, have been recalled due to contamination by Listeria monocytogenes. The salads were made by Northern Tier Bakery, in St. Paul, Park, Minnesota, and were available in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

There have been no confirmed reports of trouble, but the bakery discovered it during their regular sampling. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.
What Happens if I Eat the Recalled Salads?
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Less commonly, persons outside these risk groups are affected.
Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. An invasive infection spreads beyond the gastrointestinal tract.
In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn.
Some cases develop fatal infections in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics, so see your doctor if you're not feeling well and you think it may be the salad.
You can return the salads for a refund or just toss 'em. Consumers with questions regarding the recall can contact Northern Tier Bakery, LLC’s Customer Care at 1-800-643-1948.
