The FDA has upgraded the recall to a "Class I" health risk, meaning there's a high chance that using or being exposed to these products could cause serious health problems or death. The recalled products were sold in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and South Dakota.
162 people have reported illness and 54 have been hospitalized in 25 states due to salmonella outbreaks. The FDA has teamed up with the CDC and are working to verify the cause but the common factor seems to be cucumbers.
