Strong Winds Topple Semi on Southeast Minnesota Highway, Driver Taken to Hospital
LeRoy, MN (KROC-AM News)- Strong winds produced by a line of thunderstorms that swept across southeast Minnesota Thursday are responsible for toppling a semi truck.

That’s according to the State Patrol. The man driving the truck was injured as a result of the traffic incident in Fillmore County.
The semi was traveling south on Hwy. 63 about six miles north of the Minnesota-Iowa border when it was blown over by the wind.
The large vehicle ended up on its side in the ditch on the eastern side of the two lane highway shortly after 4 p.m., according to the state crash report.
64-year-old Scott Ronald Ives was identified as the truck driver. The Oelwein, IA man was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester for treatment of what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Ives was buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the crash report.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office and Spring Valley Ambulance also responded to the scene.
