St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester teenager is fighting for her life following a crash on Hwy. 52.

She is one of five people who were injured in the four-vehicle crash. The State Patrol responded to the scene shortly after 5 p.m. Tuesday. 

The crash occurred on Hwy. 52 near the St. Paul Airport at the Plato Blvd. interchange in St. Paul

16-Year-Old Girl Fighting for Her Life, Among Four Rochester Residents Injured in St. Paul Crash

A pick-up truck, car, Honda minivan and Toyota minivan were all traveling north when they collided in a chain-reaction crash, the state crash report says. 

The Rochester teen, identified as 16-year-old Hannah Rashid Mursal, was one of three passengers riding in the Honda. She was taken to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.

41-year-old Najma Farah Hajisalad of Rochester was driving the minivan. He and the two other passengers, identified as 19-year-old Shaza Rashid Mursal of Rochester and 86-year-old Adey Farah Qoarane of Rochester, were also taken to Regions Hospital. 

They suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

Authorities identified the pick-up driver as 46-year-old Joseph Steven Holl of Moundsview. He also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to Regions for further care. 

The car driver, 30-year-old Francisco Niziyimana of St. Paul and Toyota driver, identified as 66-year-old Mary Portesan Thiel from St. Paul, escaped the crash without injuries. 

It’s not known whether or not Mursal was wearing her seatbelt. Alcohol was not involved in the chain reaction crash, according to the state crash report.
