Spring Valley, MN (KROC-AM News)- A pedestrian was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles on a highway in southeast Minnesota

Authorities say three vehicles were involved in the deadly incident.

The State Patrol responded to the fatality shortly before 5:30 Tuesday morning on Hwy. 63/16 in Spring Valley.

67-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by 3 Vehicles on Hwy. 63/16 in Spring Valley

The pedestrian was crossing the two-lane highway from west to east at West Tracy Rd. when she was first struck by a van, car and minivan, the state crash report says. 

67-year-old Melody Ann Raveill of Spring Valley was identified as the pedestrian. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the State Patrol. 

Drivers Identified

60-year-old Mark Darrel Gusa of Spring Valley was driving the van, 49-year-old Brian Scott Tart of Spring Valley was behind the wheel of the car.

49-year-old Jessica Leigh Paulson of Preston was identified as the minivan driver, according to the State Patrol. 

All three vehicles were traveling north. The State Patrol says the motorists were not injured. 

Alcohol was not involved in the deadly incident and all of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts, according to the state crash report

The highway was wet at the time of the fatality. Spring Valley Fire/EMS and the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the deadly incident.
