Hastings, MN (KROC-AM News) - The body of a missing man has been recovered from the Mississippi River near Hastings.

Search Began After Unoccupied Boat Was Found

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office today reported that the body of 77-year-old Michael William Robinson was located on Tuesday downstream from his boat. An extensive search operation was launched late last week after he was reported missing and his unoccupied boat was located near Prescott Island.

“This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for. Our hearts are with Michael’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time,” said Sheriff Joe Leko.

 

Reported Missing Last Week

The Dakota County Sheriff's Office issued a missing person alert for Robinson on July 31. It indicated that he was last seen near Prescott Island on the evening of July 28.

Not Considered Suspicious

A news release indicates that the preliminary investigation surrounding his death has not identified anything suspicious. The investigation is ongoing.
