Early-Morning Fire Breaks Out At Rochester Nursing Home
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- First responders rushed to a fire call at a Rochester nursing home early Thursday morning.

A news release issued by the Rochester Fire Department says crews responded to the report of contents of a room on fire shortly before 6 a.m. Four engines were called to fight the fire.
The fire broke out at the Edenbrook nursing home at 1875 19th St. Northwest. An evacuation was underway as firefighters got to the scene.
Staff had rescued the occupants of the room where the fire was burning. Fire crews encountered a smoke-filled hallway and learned a Rochester Police officer, who had also responded to the home, had deployed a fire extinguisher.
Firefighters extinguished what was left of the small fire in the room it broke out in. A firefighter search determined no one else was in the wing where the fire started.
Other members of the fire department evaluated residents and staff to see if they needed further medical care. No civilian or first responder injuries were reported.
Fire crews ventilated the building and later deemed it safe for the occupants to return. The fire inflicted an estimated $2,000 in damages to the room it started in and the contents it had burned.
The cause of the fire is not available. The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the scene.
