3rd Death Blamed on Horrific Head-On Crash Near Brainerd
Pine River, MN (KROC-AM News) - A third person has died as a result of a head-on collision early Sunday in north-central Minnesota.
The State Patrol today updated its report on the tragic incident to include the death of 36-year-old Corey Peterson of Brainerd. He was among the four occupants of a car that collided head-on with a pickup truck around 12:30 AM on a rural road a few miles west of Pine River and about 25 miles north of Brainerd.
The crash report indicates alcohol was detected in the driver of the pickup. He was identified as 32-year-old Kyle Jones of Bayport. He and his passenger, 30-year-old Mandy Tellinghuisen of Bayport were both transported by ambulance to Saint Josephs Hospital in Brainerd with life-threatening injuries. One of the occupants of the car, 53-year-old Kelly Kuschel of Pine River, also had critical injuries from the crash and was brought to the Brainerd hospital.
The two other people killed in the crash were identified as 39-year-old Royal Noe of Hillman and 50-year-old Heather Ceballo of Brainerd. Noe was the driver of the car. The State Patrol says they were pronounced dead at the scene.
