Is Minnesota Really One of the Least-Stressed States in the Country?
We've been in a pandemic for two years now, inflation has raised the price of just about everything but apparently, we're not too stressed about all of that here in Minnesota.
At least that's the word from this new WalletHub survey of the Most & Least-Stressed States, that is. They found that the Land of 10,000 Lakes ranked 49th on the list of Most-Stressed States.
Or, to put it another way, Minnesota is the second least-stressed state in the country. Only Utah (which was ranked first in the survey) has less stress than we do here in the North Star State.
So, you might be wondering just which criteria WalletHub used to determine the stress level in each state. According to the survey:
WalletHub compared the 50 states across 41 key indicators of stress to determine the places to avoid and achieve a more relaxing life. The data set ranges from average hours worked per week to the personal bankruptcy rate to the share of adults getting adequate sleep.
And, sure enough, the individual findings back up Minnesota's second-place ranking on the list of Least Stressed States. Minnesota ranked 44th for Work-Related Stress; 49th on Money-Related Stress; 48th for Family-Related Stress; and 39th in Health and Safety-Related Stress.
Following Minnesota on the list of Least-Stressed States was South Dakota (#3); my home state of Wisconsin (#4) and New Hampshire (#5). The Most Stressed State in the country according to WalletHub is... Louisiana, followed by Nevada, New Mexico, West Virginia and Mississippi.
