Iowa Casino Uses John Randle To Pull Minnesota Sports Wagers
Sports betting has taken on a life of its own, getting approved in many states across the country. Iowa became the latest state to join the approved list on August 15th.
One casino in Iowa, which just happens to be about 10 miles from the Minnesota border, used John Randle, a Minnesota Vikings icon, to drop the first bet at the FanDuel Sportsbook at Diamond Jo Casino on Thursday.
The sportsbook has three betting windows, and five video displays, according to Diamond Jo Casino via Bring Me The News:
"The FanDuel Sportsbook features three betting windows, five video displays including a large video wall, 11 self-service betting kiosks from IGTPlayDigital and one sports ticker."
Minnesotans will sure flock from SE MN to Diamond Jos, as it is a short trip from the interstate to Diamond Jo Casino for bets on their favorite teams and some of the biggest games of the season.
With the casino being so close to the Iowa/Minnesota border, I think the casino made a heads up play using a Minnesota Vikings player that is well-known to help drive traffic from Minnesota, which does not have approved sports betting.
Hopefully, Minnesota figures it out and gets sports betting approved in Minnesota!
