Huge Party and Live Music Saturday at Rochester’s Broadway DQ!
You've heard the great news about Broadway Avenue in Rochester, Minnesota, right?
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The overall project won’t be completed until next year but the section of Rochester’s North Broadway between Civic Center Dr. and Silver Lake will open to traffic Monday.
It is one of the largest road projects in city history with an overall cost of $24-million. Read More: A Major Rochester Roadway Ready To Reopen To Traffic
It seems like forever it was under construction, forever we had to take detours and betours, and wait-don't-turn-there-tours. And worse, businesses had to pray the customers would find their way. To celebrate the end of the detours, they're throwing a block party.
They're Throwing A Block Party?
They're throwing a block party! The Lowertown Neighborhood Association and DMC are sponsoring the event and have some goodies to give away to the first 100 people there. They'll be tented up by Minnesota's First Dairy Queen (stop by to get the swag).
There will be live music, a beer garden at the North Star Bar, restaurants open for business and your belly, a bike event where you can learn about the new cycle track, and more.
