Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The Rochester Salvation Army says its 2019 Red Kettle Christmas campaign raised nearly $1.2 million.

That’s a new record for any fundraiser by the Salvation Army and far exceeded the goal of $950,000.

The fundraiser was helped in large part by Mayo Clinic's two-day match pledge that resulted in $341,000 in donations, an unprecedented contribution for the annual drive.

The largest single individual donation to the campaign was $14,000.

The donations are used to fund the charitable group's various programs in the community.
