Here’s A Refresher On Which Fireworks Are Illegal In Minnesota
Fireworks are one of the best parts about the Fourth of July holiday, whether you’re just watching or having fun blowing them up yourself. Depending on where you’re lighting them, however, you may want a quick refresher on which fireworks are legal and illegal in Minnesota.
I went to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety website, which has a list of fireworks that are illegal to sell, possess, and use. So, you know, keep that in mind for how you choose to proceed with your Independence Day. If you want to make sure you aren’t breaking the law (or want to narc on your next door neighbor), these are the type of fireworks that are illegal in Minnesota:
- Firecrackers
- Ladyfingers
- Sky rockets
- Bottle rockets
- Missile type rockets
- Helicopters, aerial spinners, planes, UFOs
- Roman Candles
- Mines or shells
- Chasers
- Parachutes
- 3G Display (special or class B) Fireworks
- Aerial shells
- Theatrical pyrotechnics
According to MN DPS, the only way you can use the fireworks listed above is if you have a permit or are a state certified operator. I’m sure 100% of everyone reading this will follow those guidelines to a T. Absolutely! So…yeah, use that information however you’d like. I totally forgot that Roman Candles are illegal here, personally.
Have a great Fourth!
