Led Zeppelin plans on issuing some music from their past  in early June with bonus material included. Jimmy Page, who by the way, is going to be receiving an honorary doctorate degree of music from Berklee on May 10th,  has been pretty vocal about all of the material that they plan on releasing for a couple of years.   This is a preview they just released of the 1969 'I' album reissue:

When you think back to that year, 1969, of which I cannot, because I was not even a zygote back then, but think about how different it must have been with what they had to record with versus today... it's pretty awesome to hear how good it sounds.  Granted, they have the technology of today to tweak and polish the sound, but still, that original audio file was recorded in 1969.

I'm always amazed at how well some of that audio can be.  I also think any live show has so many disadvantages sound-wise to recording in a studio, so it has to be a vulnerability factor for the band to say, hey, here it is, this was us, you know, on stage, live, in 1969, and it's now 2014.  Back in 2012, Jimmy page had mentioned to Rolling Stone magazine that he wanted to revisit some of their older albums because, they just weren't up to snuff to his ears.   I can understand what it is like to think back to the past and say to yourself, "I only wish I'd.... "   and from his statement there, I think that is exactly what his plans are to do.   One thing is certain, fans of Zep are gonna love getting their hands on some of this stuff!  We just don't know any more yet about the future of what is coming.  Multiple box sets is what we've been hearing...
