Glenn Danzig Believes California Wildfires Could Be Acts of Terrorism
Glenn Danzig has a theory about all those darn wildfires in California. Although California and other desert climates have naturally burned for centuries, Danzig may have gotten wind of the true cause — terrorism!
To be fair, most wildfires in California are started by people, whether it be accidental or on purpose. Wait a minute… how did we get onto this subject? It was actually Sex Pistols guitarist and radio personality Steve Jones having a heart-to-heart on nature with Glenn while the Misfits legend appeared on Jonesy’s Jukebox.
After Danzig spoke of the earth being a living organism and pandemics preserving a natural balance, Jones brought the conversation to wildfires in Australia. “It’s like brushfires in Australia,” Jones said. “Every few years, they burn naturally to regrow again.” "I have a theory about fires in California,” Danzig replied. “Terrorism. It's maximum amount of carnage for the littlest amount of money — a match and a can of gas. And you go out and brush and boom! It doesn't cost a lot of money, it's done. That's really what it's about, right?" "I guess," Jones responded.
Danzig continued, ”You're going to outlaw guns, some guy just decides he's going to plow a giant truck into a ton of people in France and kills way more people. If somebody wants to do something terrible like that, they're gonna do it."
Danzig looks like he’ll have a massive 2017, with the new album Black Laden Crown coming this May. Glenn will also perform a select number of Danzig III: How the Gods Kill 25th anniversary tour dates and launch his Blackest of the Black festival with a stacked bill.
