Deadly Easter Sunday Road Rage Shooting in Maple Grove
Maple Grove, MN (KROC-AM News) - An apparent road rage incident led to a fatal shooting in a Twin Cities suburb on Easter Sunday.
A news release from the Maple Grove Police Department indicates police officers were sent to investigate a 911 call reporting an altercation between two motorists. The deadly incident was reported just before 2 PM near a large shopping complex located along I-94 in the northwestern Twin Cities community.
Officials say the initial reports said one of the people involved in the altercation fired a gun in the direction of the other motorist's vehicle before both vehicles left the area. The responding officers located one of the calls off I-94 and discovered the man inside it was suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance but died from his injuries. His name has not been released.
Maple Grove police have yet to report any arrests in the case and are asking that any witnesses contact investigators.
