Minneapolis (KROC-AM News) - A 10-year-old boy was killed in an apartment shooting late Friday night.

The Minneapolis Police Department responded to a call at a downtown apartment complex around 11:30 p.m. Officers arrived to find a 10-year-boy with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR on the scene.

The boy was transported to the hospital where he later died.

Based on preliminary information, Police said that the victim and another juvenile family member were in the apartment at the time of the incident.

The identity of the victim is expected to be released following an autopsy.

 

The shooting remains under investigation, no suspect information is available at this time.
