Restaurants suddenly closing is nothing new to Rochester, but if this one were to close either location I'd be really upset!

According to GO MN News, Bruegger's Bagels is slowing becoming extinct, especially in the metro as they've recently closed 30 stores – 4 in Twin Cities alone.

I've been going to Bruegger's ever since I moved to Rochester over a decade ago when my roommate introduced me to it. It's also been a favorite Sunday morning destination for my wife and I ever since we began dating. So not only will I be bummed out on losing their food, but the nostalgic factor that goes along with it.

The bagel chain was recently bought by Caribou Coffee, and now operates under Caribou subsidiary, the Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, which operates Einstein Bros. Bagels.

So considering we have multiple Caribou and Einstein Bros. Bagels in Rochester already, it would certainly make some sense in closing down or even switching brands in the two Bruegger's locations we already have... but still. Ugh!

We've had enough closings for 2017, so here's hoping at least one if not both locations are left alone!
