Chicago Inspired Restaurant To Open in Rochester’s Barlow Plaza
What type of restaurant is Rochester missing? We ask our listeners from time to time and we hear responses ranging from buffets like Golden Corral to fast food chains like Hardee’s and Popeye’s. Those hoping for spicy chicken won’t have to wait much longer. Popeye’s is going to be opening later this year in northwest Rochester. Read about that here, and open our app to chat with us and let us know which restaurant you’d like to see open here in the Med-City. You can check out the most popular responses below.
People don’t typically put pizza joints on their wish list because there are a ton of options for pizza in Rochester, but there aren’t any places in town that serve Chicago-style deep dish pizza. According to Jeff Kiger from the Post Bulletin, Lance Patterson and his wife are about to change that.
Kiger says the couple, “will open Rosati's Authentic Chicago Pizza restaurant in a 1,600-square-foot spot between Hy-Vee and Great Clips in Rochester’s Barlow Plaza.”
If you’ve ever visited Chicago you’ve probably had a deep dish pizza – The city is famous for how thick their pizza pies are. According to Wikipedia, “the pan in which it is baked gives the pizza its characteristically high edge which provides ample space for large amounts of cheese and a chunky tomato sauce. Deep-dish pizza is baked in an iron skillet or a round, steel pan that is more similar to a cake or pie pan than a typical pizza pan"
Rosati's Authentic Chicago Pizza is expected to open in late 2021.
