Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - The latest catalytic converter caper in Rochester took place in broad daylight - in the victim’s driveway.

A woman called police around 9:30 am Wednesday to report the theft.

The 65-year-old woman said she looked out a window in her home and saw someone under her car. The woman said she yelled and the man ran off on foot. She described him as white, tall and skinny. She checked her car and discovered the converter was missing.

A short while later she discovered she was the victim of another theft.

The woman told police she found her rear door had been damaged. She checked and determined someone had entered her home and made off with a vacuum cleaner and some tools. She told police the last time she had checked the door was around 5:00 pm Tuesday.

The woman lives in the 1600 block of 23rd Ave SE.
