8,000 Carbon Monoxide Detectors were Recalled Throughout the United States Including Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin

On March 31st, 2022, about 8,000 Universal Security carbon monoxide detectors were recalled due to failing to detect harmful levels of carbon monoxide.  Two reports were made indicating that the product failed to sound the alarm when there was a presence of carbon monoxide. As a result, buildings that are using these detectors are possibly at risk of being exposed to dangerous levels of carbon monoxide and possibly death.

The recalled product was sold for $50 to $80 at Walmart.com, through electrical distributors and through other websites.
