De'Andre Dontal McGowan was sentenced to 84 months, and supervised release for 3 years after his term in prison, for his role in connection with the robbery of the Premier Bank in Northfield in January. The original criminal complaint states on January 15, 2019, at around 11:50 a.m. two black males, entered the Premier Bank at 112 East 5th Street in Northfield.  It alleges both men were wearing "high visibility vests, hats and face masks that partially covered their faces.  The men had pistols.  There were four people in the bank, one customer and three staff."

After the robbery in Northfield, the Star Tribune reported that McGowan "provided Southgate Apartments management with a cashier’s check for $3,517 to cover overdue rent, halting the threat of eviction."

Court documents indicated that McGowan had also participated in another area bank robberies around the time of the Northfield heist. He has been linked to two other bank robberies one at the New Market bank robbery in Lakeville, and a 2018 bank robbery at Premier Bank in Northfield. McGowan was also ordered to pay back over $36,000 in restitution from those three robberies.
