North America’s Most Outstanding Airport is an Hour From Rochester
A new survey says the top-rated airport in North America can be found here in Minnesota, only an hour from Rochester.
When you're traveling, there are few things more annoying than encountering a delay with your flight, thanks to issues at the airport, right? They can affect your connecting flights, mess up your plans, and just generally make things miserable, whether you're on vacation or flying for work.
Fortunately for us here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, a new survey says you'll find the best airport in North America right here in the Bold North. That's right, Minnesota's own Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport (MSP), just up Highway-52 in Bloomington, is the best on the continent, at least according to the latest ASQ Awards and Recognition survey.
ACI World’s annual ASQ Awards recognize 'airport excellence in customer experience worldwide based on data from ASQ’s renowned Departures and Arrivals Surveys,' ACI said. The 2021 awards were compiled from over 370,000 customer surveys conducted at airports in 91 countries. And they found that, for airports serving 25 to 40 million passengers a year, you can't do better than our own MSP.
KARE-11 said that this latest recognition hasn't gone unnoticed by MSP brass: "It’s especially gratifying that MSP was honored and recognized by travelers at a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has created so many challenges in our industry and impacts to the travel experience," KARE noted that Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which runs MSP, said in a statement.
This year isn't the only time MSP took home the top honors; it was also voted Best Airport in North America from 2016 through 2019. Now if you stay here in Minnesota on a Staycation, maybe you'd like to do it at the former Vikings' general manager, Rick Spielman's house... it's for sale right now.
