Assault Sends Rochester Security Guard Down Stairwell
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester Police responded to an attack on a security guard in downtown Rochester Tuesday evening.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen says the employee of Premier Security told officers he was investigating the source of a noise he heard in a stairwell near the Wells Fargo Bank on First Avenue Southwest when encountered a man who swore and kicked him. The blow caused the 19-year-old security guard to fall backward and tumble down around two dozen stairs.
The incident occurred around 6:30 PM.
Police say the guard was taken to the Olmsted Medical Center to be checked out for what appeared to be minor injuries. Investigators are looking for the suspect, who is believed to be a homeless individual.
