Finding a good pair of sunglasses can be a challenge and not losing or breaking them can be even more difficult, but experts say you do need to eventually get rid of them. Sunglasses actually expire and not replacing them could lead to numerous eye problems.

The video above shows how to test your shades to see if they've expired but honestly, it's kind of an involved process. Instead, experts say you should simply replace your sunglasses every two years to protect your eyes.

Shawn Kavoussi with the Berkeley Eye Center spoke to ABC News and said "When you're shopping for sunglasses, you want to look for the 400 UV label that means the sunglasses will protect 99 to 100 percent of the ultraviolet rays from the sun. You want to look for both UVA and UVB protection."
