Altura Woman Killed in Crash Near Rochester Airport
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Winona County woman was the victim of a traffic crash earlier today near the Rochester Airport.
The State Patrol’s preliminary report on the deadly incident indicates the 20-year-old Altura woman was headed south on Olmsted County Road 8 when she failed to obey a stop sign and collided with a semi-truck that was headed east on Highway 30 around 11:30 a.m.
The woman was identified as 20-year-old Amelia Speltz. The State Patrol report indicates she was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the truck, 50-year-old Marlon Davis of St. James, was not injured.
Traffic was detoured off Highway 30 in the vicinity of the fatal crash until the scene was cleared.
