Everything You Need To Know About the 37 Million Pine-Sol Products That Have Been Recalled

There is a really good chance that you have one of these products in your house so take a second and read through the info below:

  • REASON FOR THE RECALL: the products could possibly contain a bacteria called Pseudomonas aeruginosa.  Unfortunately, this is harmful especially for individuals with a weakened immune system or external medical device due to the risk of an infection that could become serious and require medical attention.  What is even more alarming is that this bacteria can enter the body by inhaling it, and it could also enter through the eyes or through a break in the skin.
  • RECALL INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS:
    • Pine-Sol Scented Multi-Surface Cleaners in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave, and Lemon Fresh scents,
      • CloroxPro Pine-Sol All Purpose Cleaners, in Lavender Clean, Sparkling Wave, Lemon Fresh, and Orange Energy scents, and
      • Clorox Professional Pine-Sol Lemon Fresh Cleaners

  • LOOK FOR THESE CODES ON THE PRODUCT: The products that are part of this recall have date codes beginning with the prefix “A4” and followed by a five-digit number less than 22249.  You can find these printed on the product
  • HOW THE PRODUCT WAS SOLD: These products are sold in the following fluid ounces: 28, 48, 60, 100, 144, and 175
  • WHERE THE PRODUCT WAS SOLD: These products were sold at a variety of locations online as well as the following stores: Amazon, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Dollar General, Target, Home Depot, BJ’s, Kroger, Dollar Tree, Lowe’s, Publix, and other major retailers nationwide
  • COST OF THE PRODUCT: The products were sold between $2.50 and $12.50

If you find this product in your cleaning supplies, you are asked to stop using the product immediately.  You should do the following

  • Take photos of the 12-digit UPC code, including the date code.
  • Dispose of the product in its container with household trash
