A Recall Of Cheese Dip That Can Give Minnesotans Botulism
Is it just me or have you noticed a huge uptick in food recalls lately? Things like Ritz crackers, Goldfish crackers, pasta salad, and cereal have all had recall announcements over the past few months. If you're looking for a dangerous thrill, apparently all you need to do is roll the dice by shopping at a grocery store. Yikes.
Those announcements don't appear to be stopping anytime soon, as Kraft Heinz just announced a recall of its Taco Bell cheese dip - something I've definitely seen on the shelves, but thankfully never gave into temptation. Why is this cheese dip being recalled, you may ask? Because there have been about 7,000 cases showing signs of "product separation", which can cause the growth of a bacterium that leads to botulism.
You definitely don't want to experience symptoms of botulism, which include general weakness, dizziness, double vision, trouble with speaking, swallowing, or breathing, plus constipation! Normally, I'd say that eating cheese is worth anything, but you might want to pass on this particular dip.
Is this all part of a mysterious conspiracy against snackers across the country? I'm starting to wonder.
