Rochester, MNN (KROC AM News) - Santa Claus is making an early appearance in Rochester to honor local health care workers who have been at the frontline of the COVID-19 response.

A parade has been organized Tuesday evening that will include public safety vehicles whose emergency lights will be supplemented by holiday lighting.

Light Up the Night Drive-by Holiday Parade: A Tribute to Frontline Health Care Workers

The parade is scheduled to assemble along 4th Street SW. near the St. Marys Hospital water tower. The planned route will take the vehicles to the main hospital entrance (west side). After stopping briefly in front of the hospital, the parade will continue along 2nd Street SW to the Methodist campus and will make a final stop at Olmsted Medical Center’s main campus.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.

Santa Claus is expected to join Mayor Kim Norton in the parade.
