35 Stores Part Of Latest Lettuce Consumer Advisory In Minnesota
One thing you want to avoid is watery diarrhea and unfortunately, some romaine lettuce sold in stores throughout Minnesota could lead to that for 2 to 14 days due to contamination of Cyclospora. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture just sent out a recall to the public indicating we should avoid specific packages of Ocean Mist Farms brand Romaine Hearts due to contamination.
Consumer Advisory Issued for Romaine Heart Lettuce Sold in Select Stores in Minnesota
On March 31st, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture posted the following details about the Ocean Mist Farms brand Romaine Hearts. The lab found Cyclospora while doing routine sampling and as a result have recalled the following:
- Ocean Mist Farms brand Romaine Hearts with coding “22RHDM2L” and a harvest date of “MAR 10,”
- Product came in a 22 oz. package
- Product was grown in Coachella, CA.
Thankfully, the product was not sold in Rochester, Minnesota but was sold at a variety of stores throughout the state including the following:

Watch out for these symptoms caused by Cyclospora
The typical symptoms that occur about a week after eating food contaminated with Cyclospora include the following:
- watery diarrhea,
- stomach cramps,
- nausea,
- loss of appetite,
- and weight loss.
Individuals can remain ill from 2 to 14 days and diarrhea can last several weeks or longer. It is advised that individuals seek treatment from a health care provider if you become ill.
