Who Met ‘Lucille’ On ‘The Walking Dead’ Season Premiere? [SPOILERS]

Ugh. SAY IT ISN'T SO!!

Last night's season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead brought a lot of tears and confusion! Did you expect Negan to have a few members of Rick's crew meet "Lucille" last night?

The premiere began just where season 6 left off. We were anxiously awaiting to apply some logic to Negan's behavior. Why, oh why, did he trap the entire crew and only threaten a select few? This is about more than survival, it's about assertion of power. Perhaps Negan recognized quickly that Rick was their leader, and that explains the whole "pulling him aside" (ok, that's putting it nicely) thing. Yeah, Negan basically told Rick to "fetch my ax" as a way to get used to his "new role" as a subordinate. We now know that Rick has lost complete control, and Negan is basically running everything. AS IF THESE PEOPLE HAVEN'T BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH.

That scene might not have been completely necessary, but soon after, we learn "who" met "Lucille" - the answer to the question posed six months ago. The New York Times explains, "We now know the VFX blood belonged to Abraham, who spent much of the back half of Season 6 seemingly preparing to die, cutting ties with Rosita and imparting a few final lessons to Eugene. He managed to fire off one last one-liner before Negan turned his skull into Jell-O salad." Ok, we predicted that. Not too scary yet, right? WRONG.

The we're hit with this whammy. I can't talk about it, so I'll let The New York Times explain, "Glenn’s murder was intended to be the shocker, and the writers deserve credit for somehow infusing some surprise into a death that was one of the well-known signature events of the comics." UGH.

Maggie and Daryl promptly lose their cool. Well, everyone does for that matter, but those two understandably lose it most. Daryl is then escorted somewhere by Negan too. He is, for all intents and purposed, detained. So, it looks like this whole season is set up as a "will they find each other again?" thing. A lot like season 4. Remember Terminus?

My only question: WHEN THE HECK IS CAROL GOING TO GET IN THERE AND OWN EVERYONE??? If anyone can rescue the crew, it's her!
