In a matter of minutes, while people were enjoying the great Minnesota get together, the streets quickly became covered in water and the sky lit up with thunder and lightning. Tons of videos surfaced online of people running towards near by buildings. The videos showed parents with strollers and little ones, and fairgoers of all ages.

Living in Minnesota my whole life, you still never know what to expect when it comes to the weather. Luckily, there are no reports of any injuries. I couldn't even imagine being there during the heavy rains as everyone was trying to run indoors somewhere. A lot of people ran to the large garage of the Grandstand building. Due to the winds and rain coming through the garage door's opening, one of the vendor's glass product displays shattered. The door was quickly closed, but the side doors remained open for those trying to find cover.

Fairgoers that were there for the concert, will get refunds:

The State paused the concert around 8:55 pm. The concert was Portugal The Man and Manchester Orchestra with special guest Bad Bad Hats. Rides at  Rides at Mighty Midway, Kidway, and Adventure Park closed down as well as all the free stages. The State Fair recommended that everyone there find shelter. At 9:25 pm, the concert was officially canceled. The fairgrounds opened per usual the following morning.
