60% of Americans are planning to grill out on Independence Day with classics like burgers and hotdogs being some of the most popular menu items. The protein might be the main event, but the sides you serve are also super important.

One of the largest grocery chains in the upper Midwest sent a press release late Friday afternoon to say it was yanking a popular side dish from its shelves. Hy-Vee is urging consumers to avoid eating it so be careful when attending holiday BBQs this weekend. Get the details and check the product info below.

Hy-Vee Voluntarily Withdraws Popular BBQ Side Dish

Hy-Vee has coolers near their deli area that are stocked full of side dishes like macaroni salad, beans, and potato salad. You'll notice a lot of empty space in those coolers if you go shopping this weekend.

A press release sent out Friday afternoon said Hy-Vee is "voluntarily withdrawing" a popular BBQ side dish.

No illnesses or complaints have been reported at this time, but Hy-Vee says customers should not eat it.

"Customers who have purchased any of these products are urged not to consume the product and dispose of it or return it to their local Hy-Vee for a full refund."

If you did purchase the popular side dish from Hy-Vee, the grocery store is asking you to throw it away or return it for a full refund.

The products have been pulled from stores "due to a presumptive positive microbial result."
