According to Viral Hog, the distributers of this video on YouTube, this incident was filmed on September 23, 2021 by some people who were staying in a cabin in Hayward Wisconsin on the Chippewa Flowage.

The person that filmed this said " We were sitting in the living room with a view of the lake and noticed an eagle swimming towards our beach. At first, I thought it was hurt but then it swam to shore with a 20 LBS Carp in its talons. It sat on the shore and ate the fish for a couple of hours and then came back in the morning and finished eating the Carp. It was truly an amazing sight to see! I’m glad I was to capture it on film for others to enjoy."

Most people who live in this area and see bald eagles on a pretty regular basis have massive respect for the beauty and power of this amazing animal. I have seen other videos before of bald eagles swimming, something that I have never seen before or even knew that they were capable of doing. I know that bald eagles have huge talons that are very strong, but the fact that this eagle was not only doing a version of the butterfly in the water, they were also holding on to a 20-pound fish who was most likely struggling and thrashing about.

According to Ducksters.com: The largest bald eagles tend to live in Alaska and can get as large as 17 pounds. They can live 20 to 30 years in the wild and can fly as high as 10,000 feet. They also have excellent eyesight and can see their prey from very high in the sky. All I know is that every time I see one flying high in the sky I am amazed at their size and grace in the air.
