Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Two significant detours for rural Olmsted County road projects are scheduled to begin Monday.

The section of County Rd 4 between the west side of Rochester to near the south entrance to Oxbow Park (Valleyhigh Rd NW, between 300’ east of CSAH 5 to CR 158) will be closed for the rehab project through mid-November.

It will re-open with a gravel surface through the winter and then close again next spring for concrete work. This will be the first phase of the project.

The second phase will extend the closure of CR 4 to CR 5 to allow work on a realignment of CR 105, which runs through Oxbow Park. This means CR 105 will be closed from CR 4 to the south side of the park. A detour for that part of the project will be announced at a later date. Hoffman Construction is the prime contractor for the $9,800,000 project.

Here is the detour for this project.

Culvert replacement work on Highway 247 between Highway 63 and Plainview will force a section of the road to be closed for about two months (between Potsdam and Plainview).

Motorists traveling west from Plainview will turn south on Wabasha County Road 2 and then west on Wabasha County Road 25, which turns into Olmsted County Road 21. Motorists will then turn north on Olmsted County Road 11, which connects back with Hwy 247 west of Potsdam. Eastbound traffic detour is the reverse route.

News update:  Domestic assault case against former Rochester police officer dismissed.
