The 91st Academy Awards ceremony aired last night, and to be fully honest with you, I didn't even find out who won anything until I rolled into work this morning. That's mostly because I've seen one or two of the nominated movies not named Black Panther, so I passed on the whole thing. Is that just me?

Apparently, something called Green Book won Best Picture! I have not seen Green Book, and I definitely can't tell you what it's about. But what I do know is that it just won a Minnesota native an Oscar last night.

Jim Burke, born in Edina, was one of the producers for the film, and was up on stage when Green Book won Best Picture at the end of the night. See? Minnesota can win the big one! But he's not the only one from the North Star state who took home some gold last night.

Mankato native Jimmy Chin took home the award for Best Documentary Feature for the rock-climbing doc Free Solo.

Hopefully these two movies pop up on Netflix in the near future. *cough*
