Two Killed in Rural Olmsted County Wreck
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News ) Olmsted County deputies were sent to an injury accident in the 7900 block of Valleyhigh Road Northwest in rural Rochester around 11:00 AM Saturday. Upon the arrival of deputies, it was apparent that one driver was deceased, and the other driver was in very critical condition. Emergency personnel conducted lifesaving attempts on the second driver, but they were unsuccessful in doing so. The second driver was declared deceased at the scene.
The drivers, and only occupants of the vehicles involved in the crash, were identified as 73-year-old Gary Eisentrager from Byron and 29-year-old Kyle Love from Keller Texas.
The investigation of the scene and statements from witnesses to the crash indicate that Love was driving a Jaguar SUV westbound on Valleyhigh Road when he attempted to pass other westbound vehicles. Eisentrager was eastbound on Valleyhigh Road driving a Saturn Vue when Eisentrager’s vehicle was struck, nearly head-on, by Love’s vehicle.
At this time, there is no clear indication of alcohol or controlled substance use by either driver and seat belt use is still to be determined in the follow-up investigation.
