Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) -Two Rochester residents were transported to St. Marys Hospital following a traffic crash Friday afternoon on Highway 14 just west of Rochester.

The State Patrol says 64-year-old Philip Laplante was attempting to cross the highway at the intersection with 60th Avenue Northwest when his SUV collided with car driven by 22-year-old Whitney Ellefson, who was headed west on Highway 14. The injuries suffered by both drivers were considered non-life threatening. The crash was reported just before 5 pm in the middle of the afternoon commute.

About 30 minutes later, State Troopers responded to a motorcycle crash in Le Sueur County that left a Faribault woman with non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol says 39-year-old Melissa Klemz was traveling west on Highway 60 just west of Elysian when she lost control while braking and laid her motorcycle down on its side. She was not wearing a helmet.
