Twins Announce New, Faster Way Into Target Field This Season
Heading to a Twins game is fun. Waiting forever to go through those long security lines at Target Field, though, isn't. But the Twins have a way to make that better this year.
Maybe you're running late after having looked forever for a parking spot in downtown Minneapolis. Or maybe, like me, you've done a little pre-game tailgating at Huberts, Kierans Irish Pub or another bar downtown. Either way, you're in a hurry to get to your seats before the Twins game starts.
And then you hit those long security lines at Target Field. Wah wah (sad trombone music). But never fear, the Twins have a new way you can speed up your entry into the stadium this year. They're partnering with the biometrics firm, CLEAR. Their technology allows you to use your eyes, face or fingers as your ID and ticket. The Twins are reserving a special lane at Gate 34 for CLEAR members to use, so you get into Target Field faster.
So, basically, you sign up to be a CLEAR member (which the Twins say you'll be able to do for free at Target Field), and then you can breeze right through those long security lines in your own dedicated lane! It's kinda like the TSA PreCheck that's available at the airport.
"Potential future experiences powered by CLEAR at Target Field include biometric ticketing, which would enable fans to enter the ballpark with the tap of a finger, instead of presenting a paper or mobile ticket, and Biometric Payments & Age Validation, which enables fans to buy food and drinks, and simultaneously prove that they are of legal age for alcohol purchases -- with a single touch. Additional gate locations may be added over time," the Twins website said.
CLEAR is already being used by 17 other stadiums, but the Twins are the first pro team in Minnesota to use the technology. You can read more about CLEAR and how it'll be used at Target Field this season HERE.
