Traffic Wrecks Kill Four Minnesota Women
Undated (KROC AM News) - At least four women were killed in traffic wrecks in Minnesota Wednesday.
Two women were killed after the car they were in was hit by a train in northwest Minnesota. The State Patrol says the car was on a private drive around 11:00 AM and failed to stop at the railroad crossing. The car was driven by 78-year-old Emilie Skjerven of Plummer. She and her passenger 79-year-old Carol Gerardy of Plummer died at the scene.
A New Prague woman was killed when her car was hit by a semi-truck as she was trying to make a U-turn in rural Le Sueur County. The victim was 32-year old Jessica Karasch.
A Shakopee woman was killed when the car she was driving crossed the centerline on a rural road in Scott County and collided head-on with a pickup truck. Killed was 67-year-old Barbara Fashant. The driver of the truck wasn’t hurt.
