Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is reporting alcohol was detected in the driver of one of the vehicles involved in a crash Sunday afternoon that caused a major traffic jam for northbound traffic on Highway 52 in Rochester.
40-year-old Justen Heintzman was driving a BMW that collided with a full-size van while both vehicles were traveling north on Highway 52 near the Civic Center Drive interchange around 4:30 PM. The collision caused the van to flip onto its side on the exit ramp to Civic Center Drive.
Heintzman was not hurt. There were five people from Iowa in the van and only one was injured. The State Patrol says 23-year-old Natasha Quiapan of Cresco, Iowa was transported to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
