Time is Running Out to Vote For Channel One Project

The Rochester-based Channel One Regional Food Bank has been selected as one of seven finalists for a contest sponsored by the Minnesota Twins.

The team has linked the contest to next month’s Major League Baseball All Star game, which is being hosted by the Twins this year.

The seven non-profit organizations are featured on the Twins’ website where supporters can vote for their favorite one. The organization that collects the most votes will be awarded a $500,000 grant from the Twins. The winner will be announced during All Star Week.

Channel One’s proposal calls for the addition of more than 20,000 square feet of warehouse space and a new kitchen and classroom that would be used to better serve and feed people in need.

Supporters can vote once per day through July 10th ( just three more voting days ! ).
