Two weeks of the high school football season have passed and southeast Minnesota is once well-represented in this week's state rankings.

The #1 teams this week include Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (9-Man), Minneota (Class A) Chatfield (Class AA), Cannon Falls (Class AAA), Hutchinson (Class AAAA), Mankato Wester (Class AAAAA), and Lakeville South (Class AAAAA).

A total of 12 teams in southeast Minnesota cracked the rankings in their respective classes this week. See the full rankings from the Associated Press below:

9-Man Minnesota State Football Rankings

Lanesboro, Spring Grove, and Mabel-Canton all cracked the Top 10 while LeRoy-Ostrander and Grand Meadow each received votes this week. Lanesboro ended up at #2, Spring Grove at #6, and Mabel-Canton came in at #10.

Class A Minnesota State Football Rankings

Two teams from Section 1 cracked the Top 10 this week as Fillmore Central (#7) and Randolph (Tied for #9) made the rankings. Kenyon-Wanamingo received votes this week.

The defending Class AA State champion Chatfield Gophers came in at #1 this week, while Caledonia came in at #3 (and received two first-place votes). Chatfield and Caledonia were the only teams out of Section 1 this week to receive votes in the state rankings.
