If you've ever been annoyed at how early it seems like some stores promote the holidays, this Minnesota-based chain feels your pain-- and is doing something about it this year.

I'm talking about Minnesota's own Target, of course. It's one of Minnesota's most well-known national chains, but it announced earlier this week it's not going to rush to promote the holiday season this year.

Specifically, Christmas, that is. According to this GO-MN story, Target isn't going to start promoting all things Christmas until AFTER Thanksgiving this year.

Which, when you think about it, is actually pretty impressive, if you ask me. The 'Christmas Creep,' as some analysts have called it, has become more and more invasive recently. It almost seems like some Christmas displays pop up in stores right after Labor Day, right?

Well, it's not happening this year at Target. Rick Gomez, Target's chief marketing officer, says customers want Target to recognize Thanksgiving, and not go straight into Christmas, according to the Associated Press.

So, that's what they're doing this year. Of course, Target's had a rough couple of years recently (remember that big data breach?!?), so it makes sense that they've outlined an entirely new strategy for the holidays. You can read more about all their plans for the holiday season HERE.
