Things That Have Gotten Worse or Better

I recently read a survey that had people comparing things from the past and present that have gotten worse and things that have gotten better.

According to the list, some of the things that have gotten worse are:

• Crime
• Manners
• The country overall

I couldn't agree more. Especially the manners part. I think that some people have a out of control sense of entitlement and feel they don't have to say please or thank you, be kind to others, etc.

As for me, I think we've gotten worse at talking. Not so much communicating but just..talking. It's easier than it ever has been to communicate with someone via social media and cell phones but I can't remember the last time I actually sat down with someone and talked without a cell phone within inches of me.

As far as things that have gotten better, the list included:

• Computers
• Cars
• Food

My list would have to include beer. There wasn't a huge selection of beers years ago. Now you have all kinds of craft beers and lately, I've been diggin' em.

Not sure if video games would fall under computers but I'd have to say we're a long way ahead of the old pong or Atari 2600's from back in the day.
