Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Talk about a brazen crime. A man who was plowing snow from a parking lot in northwest Rochester early Tuesday suddenly saw his truck driving off.

The 53-year-old Hayfield man called 911 around 1:00 AM to report the theft.

The man told police he had used the pickup truck and a trailer to transport a skid loader to the site to clear snow from Monday’s storm. He told officers he had left the truck running while he was working in the lot in the 2100 block of 32nd Ave NW. The man recalled seeing a white vehicle in the area just before his truck was stolen but wasn’t sure if that was connected to the theft.

The truck was later found in a ditch in a rural area in Wabasha County.
