St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - It has been a rough month for the Minnesota State Patrol, both in terms of the long hours worked by troopers in the inclement weather and the damage inflicted on State Patrol squad cars.

The law enforcement agency says, as of yesterday, nine of its cruisers have been damaged in collisions since the start of the month. Most of the crashes involved passing motorists striking the State Patrol vehicles and five of the incidents resulted in injuries.

Officials are reminding motorists the law requires them to move over for emergency vehicles stopped along highways, or at least slow down if they’re unable to shift to another lane.
