Let me start by saying, I didn't watch the Grammy Awards last night. I had better things to do with my time, like...oh, I don't know...ANYTHING else. I've never liked awards shows. The Grammys, The Oscars, The Golden Globes, etc. are all about millionaires patting themselves on the back for a job well done. Get over yourselves.

With that being said, did Beck deserve to win ROCK album of the year and Best Album of the Year? I don't know. What I DO know, is that he DID deserve to accept the award without being interrupted by an ego driven asshat like Kanye West. My hope is that one day, Kanye will interrupt the wrong person at the wrong time and he's going to get his clock cleaned. Hey Kanye, maybe instead of Taylor Swift and Beck, interrupt someone who weighs more that 120 lbs.soaking wet.

I've already heard people defending Kanye rushing the stage, saying it was a joke. I thought, "Okay. Maybe it IS a joke but then I saw the quote from him after the Grammys:

“I don’t even know what [Beck] said. I just know that, the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We aren’t going to play with them no more. ‘Flawless.’ Beyoncé’s video. And Beck needs to respect artistry, he should have given his award to Beyoncé. At this point, we tired of it. What happens is, when you keep on diminishing art, and not respecting the craft, and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration. We, as musicians, have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album, and they feel like it takes them to a different place. And then they do this promotional event, and they’ll run the music over somebody’s speech, the artist, because they want commercial advertising. We aren’t playing with them anymore. And by the way, I got my wife, my daughter, and I got my clothing line, so I’m not going to do nothing that would put my daughter at risk, but I am here to fight for creativity. That’s why I didn’t say anything tonight, but you all knew what it meant when ‘Ye stepped on that stage.”

Kanye, you're not an "artist" with a "craft." You're just an egomaniac who was probably never told, "no" in his life. Have some respect for other people and stop making everything about you. THAT'S why the Grammys suck. Because they allow people like Kanye West to jump up on stage and ruin a big moment for someone other than Kanye or his friends.  Eventually, people are going to stop taking you seriously (if they haven't already) and you'll be doing everything in your power to just get an invite to any awards show.
